Unmantained projects and deprecated versions

From August 2nd Google Play Billing v4 can't be used for new apps following the 2 year deprecation cycle (https://developer.android.com/google/play/billing/deprecation-faq).

Currently, both Java projects TrivialDrive and ClassyTaxi are on v4 and were updated more than 2 years ago which leaves no valid sample implementation.

On this comment from May 22, @cka-dev promised they would be updated "in the coming months". https://github.com/android/play-billing-samples/issues/532#issuecomment-1133477982

If Google is going to follow a 2 year deprecation policy forcing developers to refactor our working implementations, can you at least keep your own projects up to date with a tested and stable implementation that we can use as reference?

I'd expect it's in Google's best interest users have the best IAP experience and can spend their money without friction.

Google isn't playing by their own rules: they force everyone onto 2 year version update cycle, yet with their endless money flow they themselves don't have enough resources to keep their samples updated accordingly. I bet these samples don't even have owners inside Google!

Hey, Google! Care to prove me wrong?
