Ableton doesn't see VST3 plugins
I tried upgrading to the latest version but for some reason Ableton only sees Audio Units. Any ideas why?
I am also experiencing this issue as a new user on Mac.
Does this one work for you guys at all? https://drive.google.com/file/d/118_l4_pVdxwvcEJ6ctjixD01-YBEzIsH/view?usp=sharing
I think this one will also be built for new Mac M series architectures. I can't really reproduce this issue myself as I'm stuck with intel for now
Although the vst files appear in my plugin folder, they do not appear in my DAW still. Something might still be off with how it is being built for M series macs.
That's a shame 😔 thanks for trying it out.
This might need a PR from someone else who can reproduce it.
Unfortunately I can't reproduce it with my current hardware
Hello I am on Windows 11 and Ableton doesn't see the VST3 files, which I pasted into the plugin folder Ableton scans. I tried running the .msi and setup.exe files but that didn't help. Happy to troubleshoot if there's something to try out.
On Windows 11, Ableton 12.1 and loading just fine, make sure the plugin load folders are right.
I am also experiencing the issue with the latest Macbook, Pro M4.
By the way, I've tried it on the same computer in Bitwig, and it works fine. Only Ableton is a problem.
+1 for this, M4 Macbook Air, 15.3.2. REAPER is able to read & load the plugins, but Ableton doesn't. I've copied the suite to the main VST3 folder to no success: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
+1,M1pro macbook pro,it can be read in REAPER but can't find in ableton, only have problem in ableton
I wonder if Ableton on m-series is more strict

There may be some issues with the code signing of VST3 plugins. Re-signing will fix this issue,
cd /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/SpectralSuite/
sudo codesign --force --deep --sign - * # resign all .vst3
Then rescan in Ableton, and all VST3 plugins will show up.
Tested on:
- Ableton Live 12.1.11 & Ableton Live Beta 12.2b15
- macOS Sequoia 15.4.1
- M1 Mac mini
@krfantasy thank you so much!! confirmed working on Macbook Air M3, macOS 15.5, Ableton Live 12.0.5
