Bimp doesn´t work with gimp 2.10.36
I installed Gimp 2.10.36 and the Bimp plugin but the "Batch Image Manipulation..." is not visible in the files menu of Gimp.
Thank you
Cant reproduce, works as expected. Where is your plugin installed?
The plugin is in "\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins" Thank you for your help
does $ ldd /usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/bimp show missing any linkage?
I'm sorry but I'm using Windows and the ldd command doesn't exist
Then dumpbin is the tool to check dependencies, btw do you also have the standalone binary installed and does it work?
The output of dumpbin /dependents is:
Dump of file bimp.exe
File Type: EXECUTABLE IMAGE
Image has the following dependencies:
KERNEL32.dll
msvcrt.dll
libgdk-win32-2.0-0.dll
libgdk_pixbuf-2.0-0.dll
libgimp-2.0-0.dll
libgimpbase-2.0-0.dll
libgimpcolor-2.0-0.dll
libgimpui-2.0-0.dll
libgimpwidgets-2.0-0.dll
libgio-2.0-0.dll
libglib-2.0-0.dll
libgobject-2.0-0.dll
libgtk-win32-2.0-0.dll
libintl-8.dll
libpango-1.0-0.dll
I have a problem with this new version of gimp standalone (it worked fine with the previous one). For comparison I installed gimp with the setup and in this case bimp works well

Yea I realy cant give any advice since I dont use Windows, sorry.
this is what I see after BIMP installation during GIMP launch
how do I remove bimp now since it doesn't work?
you can copy EXver two files 'bimp.exe & bimp-locale' in to 2,10,36 paths like: \gimp2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins
I have Windows as well. I have installed GIMP 2.10.36 and then installed the BIMP plugin. After restarting and reopening the Gimp application, the batch converter option does not appear. I have checked the above as well, and have a subset of the files that error:
libgdk-win32-2.0-0.dll
libgdk_pixbuf-2.0-0.dll
libgimpbase-2.0-0.dll
libgimp-2.0-0.dll
I do not receive the error message that laszlo1337 receives. I also do not see an /en folder in /bimp-locale. Should one be there? (Sorry if that is a stupid question - I am new to this and just trying to get this to install properly.) Thanks -
bump into the same problem as laszlo's, and found the solution is to make sure 32-bit plugin support is checked while installing.
Can confirm the same behaviour.
The installer succeeds, but starting Gimp crashes the Bimp plugin.
Running Windows 10 Enterprise
NOTE: I downloaded the 2.4 version. Installed fine. Runs fine. Viable workaround.
Tried to install BIMP to use with GIMP 2.10.38 (revision 1) on Mac using MacOs Monterey 12.7.1. Terminal reports that BIMP is installed but it doesn't appear in the File menu when GIMP is restarted. Followed instructions to reset Preferences etc etc. but no success. I don't want to upgrade to Catalina because every time I upgrade the Os I lose access to another raft of programs!!! Is there an older Monterey-compatible version of BIMP?

Look at the release folder, see which version best suits your needs. https://github.com/alessandrofrancesconi/gimp-plugin-bimp/releases
Thank you!
