Carousel custom default position

Is there a non hacky way out there, to render a carousel in a vertical list, that will have a default scrolling index?

Thing of something like instagram, you scroll down, and someone posted a image carousel, you only look at the first image, next time when it opens the app, when that carousel is shown, is showing as default the 2nd image from it.
