Update URSim Version?

Open ModischFabrications opened this issue 5 years ago • 7 comments

The current version of this package contains Version 5.4 from mid 2019, the newest version is 5.9.

It seems like the build-in updater of the simulation does not work, is there any plan to update the packaged version in the docker container?

This repo seems to have an update to 5.8: https://github.com/vushu/DockURSim

@danr and @ModischFabrications, apologies for taking so long to get back to you, can you config the repo linked (https://github.com/vushu/DockURSim) works? If so i will merge it into this repo as its a very minor change

I'll try to get this to work but there are even newer versions now. How did you get the address to the amazon cdn for the simulator? (I don't have an account on the UR webpage)

I dont think there is any other way to get the address than to log in and right click on the download button to get the link. I dont have access to my account anymore, however the link seems to be consistent with just the version changing, so if you know the version you should be ok.

i.e. With the current address of https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/ur-support-site/54411/URSim_Linux-5.4.2.76197.tar.gz just replace 5.4.2.76197 with the version you want and you should be ok. You can check the link works by simily pasting it into the browser and checking it downloads the tar.gz

The number after ur-support-site differs but I found it in a comment on the index.html file. Here is what I think the latest tarball for the e-series. Don't know why it isn't gzipped: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/ur-support-site/105063/URSim_Linux-5.10.0.106288.tar

I'm now running the simulator in virtualbox instead. The most recent virtual box version is at: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/ur-support-site/112647/URSim_VIRTUAL-5.10.2.106319.rar
