Expand functionality of command palette

Description

As discussed in the last dev sync, we'd like to expand the functionality of the command palette by referencing a couple of sources we've found, namely this YouTube video:

@mattburnett-repo has expressed interest in working on this after a bit of self study. We can use this issue to further document the work to be done for it all 😊

Note: there's also a bug where for Firefox on windows the command palette is for some reason scrollable on the x-axis (content is all visible).
