Subscribe to elements
one of the main OSM's "problems" is the inability to redeem an activity on the map, so anybody can change any element mapped on the map...this determines that many activities that would have every interest in appearing on the map, do not consider it a viable solution because of the risk of vandalization by trolls and competitors and frightened by the need to continually have to monitor the situation. a mitigating factor could be the possibility of receiving a notification in case of changes. The activation of such notification currently is not easy and could intimidate a non-professional. what I propose is the possibility, once logged in and selected an item, in addition to the possibility to edit the tag #90 , to also have the possibility to "subscribe" to an element and receive an alert in case of changes (change in tag, position or deletion)...such a system could also be activated directly in the procedure of adding an activity for business #91 a plus would be to have a "watched POI" list in the user profile subpage where been able to easily remove subscriptions.
PS: imho have a complete push notification should be a must but as a start limiting this on node/way or relation ID should be fine.
We got changeset and note subscriptions. Element subscription will be a useful addition that shouldn't be hard to implement. We will probably do it after the feature parity 👍
Can't OSMCha be used for that? (not sure, just chiming it to see if it solves OP problem already)
@matheusgomesms Even if it does, OSM-NG should benefit from this functionality. From a user experience standpoint, core features should be integrated into the website. Another example is how OSM-NG will include its own profile statistics page, eliminating the need to rely on external services like HDYC - Neis One!.
