No Megascans option in import
I just installed OC Helper today. at first there was a Megascans import option, but it wouldn't work because of the Quixel port issue. SO, i removed the startup script for 2.83, restarted computer. Still no option. I removed Bridge entirely. Still no option. getting this error in console: [Octane Helper] Octane Megascans module error initializing the thread. Error: [WinError 10048] Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted
Any suggestions? thanks much.
Actually, there shouldn't be any Import button in Blender top bar. The current addon activates the megascans module at startup automatically, no button is required to push. You have the Import button that's probally caused by old versions of addons or official quixel addon for cycles/eevee. To remove the offical addon, I added an instruction in the Questions
THanks Yichen. there is no button. I'm trying to figure out how to import a 3d asset. THe file->import menu did have a megascans option, but after I removed the folder in the scripts/startups folder, that option went away, and that error message persists. Is there another way to bring in a 3d megascans asset? thanks much. seems like an awesome add on, so thanks!

That's interesting. Is the error same? Please restart your Blender or PC. It looks like something or add-on is using that port. Search through add-ons to see if there is any add-on called something like "Megascans" and remove it, then restart your Blender. Make sure you are using the latest Octane Helper thank you

sorry, really want to get this to work. I downloaded a program called TCPView to look at port assignments, etc. but, doesn't really help, as I don't know what port Octane Helper is trying to use. anyway you can have that spit out to the console?

It's using the port 28888. Either caused by duplicated add-ons or other softwares that occupied the port. Let me know if there's any other issue ty. No need to uninstall the Bridge because it is just a client listening to that port.
