Follow core coding standards

We should make sure we are following core coding styles. From the top of my head...

• [ ] Switch from short arrays
• [ ] Hook names
• [ ] Possibly namespaces

It'd be good to chat with @jrfnl about her thoughts on Core adopting namespaces. We might not need to drop them.
