Your system information

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Usually when I hit tab (scoreboard) it cause about a ~30-50 FPS drop. I'm not sure about that this is normal. Tested on Ubuntu 22.04.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Start the game
  2. Start any matches
  3. Hit TAB

I do have the same "issue" but even though I don't like it, it feels like it's not a linux specific bug, but more like a way the source2/game is coded.

@jonnyrobbie of course it can be an independent issue/behaviour but I'm playing only on Linux, so I cannot check.

I also see the same thing, usually from the highest frametime in the cs2 build info jumping up when I press tab or open the buy menu. I always thought it was just because of blitting the 2D stuff over the 3D stuff but I just tested in a practice game and kicked the bots and pressing tab made no noticeable difference even though the scoreboard is the same size in pixels.

Same here. Every time I press TAB for the scoreboard, frametime takes a massive leap from 16ms to 170ms. Pressing TAB while moving causes a noticeable lag that can easily be confused with 'rubber banding'. Quite disturbing bug, since I've a very annoying habit of constantly pressing TAB :D Same issue with the buy menu, but I don't use it often. Debian 12 6.1.85-1, rx6500xt (mesa 22.3.6-1), i5 4670.

Okay, looks like I found some weird way to temporarily fix this issue: pressing Esc (main menu) is helping... for one round. Next round it starts again...

It seems that after the last big patch (~5/23/24) this issue has gone, at least for me :)

Since I cannot figure out why the game shadering all the time I just installed the game on Windows 10. Same hardware, same issue. I mean the scoreboard still cause this side effect.
