Your system information

  • System information from steam (Steam -> Help -> System Information) in a gist:
  • Have you checked for system updates?: [Yes]

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

After the latest update of CS:GO a once solved error returned - while on the server - the screen freezes (when the error occured before it was fixed the screen froze but I could hear the sounds - but now the whole game crashed after a few minutes.

Then I checked the ingame files - it pulled some files, now it freezes even before joining the server.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

As usual - starting the game and trying to play.

I tried switching to proton, but it doesn't even connect with the steam-process then.

Console input here: https://gist.github.com/linuxstony/026041bee344a1e9f8c77ae2e0f08bfa

Start options: gamemoderun %command% -vulkan -high -freq 144 -refresh 144 -fullscreen -r_emulate_gl -limitvsconst -no-browser -novid +cl_forcepreload 1 -noforcemparms -processheap -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd +mat_queue_mode 2 +fps_max 0 -forcenovsync -softparticlesdefaultoff +r_dynamic 0 __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_SKIP_CLEANUP=1

I hope you can help me somehow - it worked like a charm before - its frustrating, that it is now broken again.

Cheers from Germany

Stefan

Update - switching back to the NVIDIA-driver-470 seems to fix it - i didn't realize the driver was updated to 510. I was able to join the server. Testing gameplay now.
