Current behavior:

The UV requires the application configuration to specify the authentication version.

Expected behavior:

The authentication version should be taken from the info.json

The info.json is retrieved anyway, so why is it not used? Would be happy to contribute ;-)

My understanding is that there were plans to significantly revise all authentication code because of changing standards, so this is probably no longer relevant in its current form. Since my institution doesn't use authentication for IIIF and I have not been involved in it, I'm not familiar with the current state of that work, though.
