What's odd: the rest of the gestures work perfectly fine. Scrolling left/right in the photo gallery works, scroll down to dismiss image viewer works, scroll left to right to go...

@GeopJr Yeah, definitely a GNOME/Mutter thing. In hindsight, I think I've noticed this in other apps, making it kind of impractical to use windows well... windowed. I think GNOME hard-coded...
