I try two ways :

1- I create a data file "example.txt" with content :

[ACTIONS]
2,routine,#F18928
  1,check email,#9366D7
  3,exercise,#C84BFB
  60,small tasks,#E96338

    35,check mailbox,#EDD483
12,entertainment,#83D072
  13,games,#541AFE
    56,elden ring,#F37894

when I edit it, click save, nothing is taken into account, if I reopen the file, nothing was changed.

2- I follow the steps to add my first record :

To add your first record:

Open Rapid Time Tracker
Click New to create a new data file (.txt)
Click Add on the top left
Enter a new action name
Press shift + enter to create the new action, press enter again to confirm
Press enter, modify duration (e.g. your preferred unit), press enter again to add the record.

Save the file, but no file is created at all on my hard drive. It doesnt exist at all.

I tried running the software in adminstrator mode as well.

I am on windows

ok, so this happens when file is in root directory of a hard drive, as soon as i try it in folder inside the path, then it works fine

"C:\testfile.txt" wont work but "C:\folder\testfile.txt" will work

I'm not the author but sounds like a permissions issue
