!bootcamps: Replace link or create our own write-up about it
Complete the following REQUIRED checkboxes:
-
[x] I have thoroughly read and understand The Odin Project Contributing Guide
 -
[x] The title of this issue follows the
command name: brief description of requestformat, e.g./help: add optional @user parameter
The following checkbox is OPTIONAL:
- [ ] I would like to be assigned this issue to work on it

1. Description of the Feature Request:
We should either replace the link with a new one, or write our own thoughts about bootcamps, in a similar style to this series of tweets.
This would help replace the possibly outdated information, and avoid bashing any particular bootcamp (like the author does in his tweets).
2. Acceptance Criteria:
- [ ] The reply generated after using the
!bootcampscommand should contain a new link or our own writing (within theblogrepo) which discusses things to look out for when researching bootcamps
3. Additional Information:
Currently, the !bootcamps command generates this response:
Friends don't let friends commit to bootcamps without being informed. https://web.archive.org/web/20220410160426/https://twitter.com/lzsthw/status/1212284566431576069
We had to resort to using the Internet Archive because Twitter recently began forcing users to sign in to see any content, and also started rate-limiting all users. This triggered a discussion in Discord: https://discord.com/channels/505093832157691914/1125835942054334554/1125835942054334554 where rlmoserproposed that we update the link or write our own content on the matter, and place the bootcamp-related write-up in the blog repo: https://github.com/TheOdinProject/blog or the blog's wiki: https://github.com/TheOdinProject/blog/wiki/.
Asarta reached out to the author (Zed A. Shaw) to get permission to copy paste his tweets and shared with us the author's response:
I actually should write up a blog post about it. Maybe look into how things may have changed since then. I believe that was right about the pandemic hit so I'm not sure if many survived since then. I've not seen as much activity in bootcamps since then. How about from your end? Is there still a lot of bootcamps? Any I should check out to review?
4. Related PR: #350
I think that this would be pretty nice, a well thought out response would be cool. Not sure who would be knowledgable to write up on that kind of thing though. Wonder if the author will write something
@Eduardo06sp any updates?
