Deleting files stalls remainder of the program

Steps to reproduce are literally those.

Xperia S, marshmallow. No, it doesn't seem a phone/rom problem, given SystemUI and everything else keep working normally.

How much do the files weigh? How many files?

3x200MB or like 10x10MB didn't particularly seem to matter. My very educate first guess was that <i/o thread> was blocking the rest.

Everything is done in a service, exept getting the files metadatas

Then... Mhh, I'd be wondering what creates the problem.

You didn't mention the version though. Play store release might not be using service but a simple asynctask.

This is still happening. Especially when deleting very big folders. The folder doesn't get deleted until it finishes getting the size, which can take a very long time with big media folders (like whatsapp's media folder).
