Heatmaps are working just fine as it is. You need to use [`TileOverlay`](https://github.com/googlemaps/android-maps-compose/blob/main/maps-compose/src/main/java/com/google/maps/android/compose/TileOverlay.kt) together with `HeatmapTileProvider`.
