Picture thumbnail, should show whole resized image rather than crop out excess pixels

I received an image and it was just a gray square.

I did not understand, when I press it I saw the rest of the image.

The application was only showing the center of the image, which just happenned to be all gray pixels.

So currently when generating a thumbnail, it crops out the excess pixels.

But it should resize the image to create the thumbnail.
