When using Ctrl + Shift + X for "Repeat last import" you are essentially doing the same thing.
I've had [a similar issue](https://github.com/VSCodeVim/Vim/issues/3957#issuecomment-619360278) in the past. For me it was simply an issue of VSCode being slow for whatever reason.
