Select Filename and Location without Intent.ACTION_CREATE_DOCUMENT

It is probably a corner case but for me it would be very helpful if I can choose a filename (and destination) and every time I use phone-saver this file will be overwritten. My use case is a e-book reader that support custom standby pictures saved as suspend.jpg. It would be very handy to open a photo make a screenshot and save it as standby picture or use OsmAnd and save the screen as Map.

Hi @ekorn

What version of Phone Saver are you running? There is an Enable Location Select that's been released lately. Could you give that a go and see if that fits your use case?

If not I'll have a look and see what I can do. This is something that I've wanted in the app for a while.

Sorry I have been on vacation for a while. I use the 4.0.3 from F-Droid with "Enable Location Select" I can choose the folder but not a file to overwrite. It always create a new .jpg file.

The Enable Location Select uses a native Android document selector which I have limited control over.

It's a bit of a double edged sword unfortunately. The native implementation is great because it allows SD card access and other handy features, but being a native implementation means I don't have control over how to actually works.

I don't think there is anything I can do about this one until I add manual support for this. I'm going to rename this ticket to track this here.
