Older file, sensors not deploying

I picked up an older file and after inserting into orbit realized my sensors weren't deploying. I swapped out the SCANsat folder in GameData for the latest, as I assumed the newer KSP 1.3 was causing problems with older mods and on the next load all my ships with older scanners disappeared due to missing files from the old scanners.

Is there a way to make the old ships/scanners look for the new versions? I kind of hate to wait for the next transfer window but it could be done.

Which version were you upgrading from? As far as I know the parts have remained the same since roughly version 2 or 3.

It should tell you which parts are missing when you load the save file (if you still have it). Maybe there were SCANsat scanners that came from a different mod.

Hrm, I think it was KSP 1.0 originally. SCANsat.Scanner2, SCANsat.Scanner22, and SCANsat.Scanner32 are the files it's looking for. They look absolutely correct, they just don't have a deploy option on the right click when they did previously.

I went into the VAB and even there wasn't given the option to deploy any of the SCAN sensors, not even on new craft. I deleted it and put a new version in the GameData folder. I don't know what the next step might be other than a KSP reinstall.

This sounds like an installation error. Make sure you downloaded the right file: https://github.com/S-C-A-N/SCANsat/releases/tag/v18.0 and install SCANsat again.
