Allow for alias domains

We would like to have several domain extensions point to our developer portal - is there a feature in the pipeline that would allow this on your end (through DNS settings)?

Thanks!

@JeroenVanHautte could you please elaborate?

@RomanHotsiy We have got our developer portal over at developers.companyname.com, but we would also like to have developers.companyname.net point to the same instance. Now, this can be done through a 301 redirect on a separate server (which is how we resolve it now), but ideally we would prefer to set the DNS records to redocly directly, as to avoid the use of another server just for the redirect.

Oh. I see. Unfortunately, we support only one custom domain per doc instance at the moment. We will see if we can add support for more than one into our next development cycle. I'll keep this issue opened.

Hi there .. any update on this?

We'd really like the alias .. the business case, you should really take care of it, is the migration from another service ... Having the alias would make it possible to migrate, changing the 3rd level domain without having to implement a useless 301 redirect.

Hi, no real update yet. I'll bring up the internal discussion again.

Some thoughts: I believe it's not good for SEO to have same content in multiple places (canonical URL may be a solution).

SEO It's not my use case... I want to migrate from old domain on different service to new domain on yours.

Anyway, setting canonical headers or meta in the pages would solve, right.

Thanks
