I know it is possible to convert .gb/.gbc games using goomba to .gba however some games do not work via goomba conversion (Pokemon Crystal, Major Graphical Distortions) and aren't realistically...

Some Pokemon games (haven't tested other games) require a save type of Flash 128K instead of 64K. As a result, save games can only be done through the "Write Savestate".
