Senguku Basara 4 Sumeragi (戦国BASARA4 皇) - Hard Crash On Specific Stage Load
Quick summary
Game crashes when entering a specific stage. I already tried changing settings around and putting everything on default with no luck. I just experienced minor graphical glitches so far, this is my first hard crash.
Details
- Game: Senguku Basara 4 Sumeragi (https://rpcs3.net/compatibility?g=BLJM61248)
- Expected behavior: It should load fine as it does for the majority of other stages.
- Logs (includes hardware info): RPCS3.zip
- Video: https://youtu.be/oc35PeNtsT4

Is this still an issue?
as of now, it still can happen, found the game will freeze after Gotō Matabei intro cutscene
I think this is a disc version issue specific
I never had any crash on goto matabei If you know which stage crashes and which combination lmk ill test on yhe the digital version
The original issue that OP has is no longer an issue (proof)
will check for this one later

so id say this whole thing is closed for now unless someone can give proof of their dump being valid and the game still crashing assume it crashing because of their dump
@TheRealDannyyy, @ReLyf47 is that still an issue?

Nope it isnt, i have played both game version Digital and Disk and proven both to be fixed, unless theres a regression recently then my report from last time is still true.
Most of the hard crash report i seen on the discord server for this are people with pirated files, because its the same 4 bad files, affecting 1 specific character and 1 specific stage

Heres both report i did on digital and disc version
The issue is 5 Years old and lots changed. I highly doubt it still crashes and back then I managed to complete the game playing other missions anyway.
I assume it's fixed based on the comments and I will close it for now.
Feel free to re-open if anyone else still experiences it again. (Thanks for closing it for me!)
@elad335 After getting out the old Backup Drive for my PS3 dumps and updating to the latest.
I can unfortunately confirm that it still crashes. I managed to get past the initial crash in the menu once but then it crashes shortly after in the stage itself. The weird graphical corruptions seem to be fixed at least.
Like @ReLyf47 stated above. This could be a bad dump but given that I don't have his version (NPJB00688) and mine is: BLJM61248 at v01.02 of the game. It could also be specific to my version of the game.
As it stands right now. I cannot guarantee that the dumping method I used 5 years ago was solid and it could just be a "bad dump". I don't have any means to dump NPJB00688 and test so maybe someone who has the exact version as mine with a 100% confirmed good dump, could give it a shot and report back.
TL;DR: The Game is still crashing. (Updated Logs: RPCS3.log.gz)

Whos/Where did you crashed? Ill try replicating when i have time, also probably send your save file to make it as close as possible
@ReLyf47 I hope I did this correctly: BLJM612480.zip (It's a fairly new save I think. Just start the campaign of the selected Character and you're good.)
Also as a side note for the Devs (@elad335).
RPCS3 got super hungry after exiting post-crash and I had to manually kill it in Task Manager after noticing a system slowdown. Any built-in killswitch that was suppose to trigger must have unfortunately failed on my end.
used @DannyyyOnGit save file i can guarantee it does not crash in said place
for sanity check i redumped my copy (was necessary anyway since i dont have it dumped)
and PS3 Disk Dumper says its fine
then loaded ingame
(Closest thing to a 1:1 shot of the screenshot)

And nope i run the game fine
Then we can close this for good I guess. My dump of the game must've been done poorly back then.
Do you know an easy way to check and verify old dumps by any chance? I want to check my existing dumps now and I can't re-dump them anymore.

I will check it out to confirm that it's really not some odd case and a bad dump. After I got the results we'll decide to keep this open or close it for good. Thanks for all the help so far!
@ReLyf47 I used both the PkgCheck and Pyird. Only Pyird told me there are some invalid files, which I guess confirms that my dump should be tossed in the dump. Are these expected or really an issue?
I got a new dump and it works fine now. People should check their game dump if they run into this specific crash in the future.
Thanks again to @ReLyf47 for the research and help! Also thanks to the RPCS3 team in general for their work!
Closing the issue for good now...
