404 not working

Issue description

When I try and go to a non-existent page, instead of getting the intended 404 page, I get the landing page in a buggy state with no icons.

I wasn't able to reproduce this bug while running the production version of the website locally so maybe the issue comes from the hosting provider?

I'm pretty sure that's an issue on Github Pages' side. I've had similar issues before. Future reference for devs: https://docs.github.com/en/pages/getting-started-with-github-pages/creating-a-custom-404-page-for-your-github-pages-site

i got this as well by putting https://wiki.quiltmc.org/en/items/first-item21 in firefox's URL bar while using windows 10
