Files don't become green or change the color after a error or sucessful upload.

Thanks for reporting. What versions are you using? MediaWiki, PHP, SBU? Was this happening in earlier versions?

MediaWiki 1.37 changed the default value for $wgIncludejQueryMigrate from true to false (see release notes). It seems like SimpleBatchUpload depends on the compatibility layer being enabled. Setting $wgIncludejQueryMigrate = true fixed the issue for us.
