[Bug]: Pretendo Sysmodule causing slow HOME Menu updates

What happened?

HOME Menu updates, such as the appearance of a present after title installation or cartridge insertion/removal, take a long time to occur when the 0004013000002902 Sysmodule patch is used.

What did you expect to happen?

For the patch to not affect the HOME Menu experience negatively.

Steps to reproduce?

  1. Install Nimbus from Universal-Updater.
  2. HOME Menu updates are delayed after 0004013000002902.ips is applied.
  3. After switching to Pretendo servers in Nimbus, the delay lengthens considerably.

Other relevant information. (OPTIONAL)

I have an issue with a U region O2DS on Ver. 11.17.0-50U, Luma3DS v13.3.3, where the 0004013000002902.ips sysmodule patch causes HOME Menu updates (such as insertion/removal of a cartridge or installing a new title) to be very delayed as long as the system is connected to the internet.

The delay occurs regardless of whether Nintendo or Pretendo servers are used, but it is much longer on Pretendo, where it will take 1 minute+ for the HOME Menu state to update. Removing the offending sysmodule for testing causes HOME Menu updates to happen instantly as expected.

Navigation is not affected, and titles already installed on the SD Card work as expected, even when connected online.

An E region N3DSXL on the same network (in the UK) does not have this issue. The only meaningful differences that I know of is the region.

Prior to troubleshooting, I had a Kirby Battle Royale Spotpass advertisement on the HOME Menu, which wouldn’t appear until the delay passed (or the device was disconnected from the internet).

Spotpass advertisements were disabled in MSET and eShop to no avail, and deleting HOME Menu management data and allowing it to be recreated did not help either.

The 2DS had the NNID bug on the test NASC profile, but fixing that and adding a PNID did not help either.

Another user on the forums has reported the same issue on a N3DSXL.

I'm going to mark this as approved, since I also experienced this it seems. My copy of Pokémon Platinum took ~1m to show up when I inserted it. I assumed this was just my 3DS being old, but it lines up with other reports of similar issues
