Display subtitle in PiP

Can you support displaying subtitle in PiP? PiP support it natively and other apps are taking adventage of it as seen below

I heard it can be done using AVPlayerLayer but I do not have enough knowledge to implement it by myself.

Not the same story with AVSampleBufferDisplayLayer AFAICT..
