When v.2 is going to be released?
Hi, @PixelsCommander ! As far as I know, you were planning to finish and release a new version of HTML-GL (v.2). Are you still positive about that? Should we expect the new version soon?
@pixelsCommander this is great work and I wish I could help you maintain it. But realistically, shouldn’t this be undertaken by the likes of Google and Mozilla? Why are we stuck in the DOM if we can have all the decorative goodness of HTML/CSS and do that without the performance cost of the DOM? How does HTML-GL get around the constraints that slow down the DOM? After all, you have to have some kind of internal representation of the nodes and the layout. In any case, it would be nice to see this project supported by at least one browser vendor or a major corporation with interest in advancing graphics on the web. I love the effects, and not sure why we can’t have a browser native API that achieves the same effects. Seriously wondering why work on this is not being undertaken by browser vendors. Any idea?
Does the new version use OffscreenCanvas because I see a lot of jank on my high end smart phone when scrolling.
