./configure creates a seemingly infinite number of "Enter y or n, or enter q to quit:" that appear so fast that it seems not possible to answer. No makefile created. On Ubuntu 14.04

Is there a question before the prompt of answering with y/n/q? Did you run autoreconf -i first? Did any error messages appear?
