I am aware that this problem is because of the Otter Browser (Opera Legacy 12) basis, but I believe this should be resolved in future versions.

A little more info could potentially be helpful, e.g., is it legacy QtWebKit or revived?

Probably. This is the default browser mode. I open the site and I see only outdated Google. I haven't tested whether changing the browser agent mitigates this problem.

Google serves its landing pages based on the user agent provided in the HTTP request.

When I fake firefox, I can login. Therefore, this means that Otter has a feature required by Google. And then, I cancel my post.

Is it possiple for Otter to support OAuth2?

I can login to Google with some WebkitGTK browsers (Lariza, surf, Luakit). I do not think this is a user-agent issue.
