OpenLane RTL to GDSII

This has less formal documentation but I tried doing RTL to GDSII of A2O with OpenLane and the process was buggy. Is there any documentation on how to do OpenLane for a2o or are there any other open-source CPUs which have had GDSII files made with OpenLane without needing any proprietary tools at any step?
