Reshare posts
People would like to reshare some posts to their own circles, this will be tricky with the way circles work.
Needs some good investigation and of course, some proposals to do better than other platform when it comes to preventing the feature from being used to publicly stone people, spread misinformation and become yet another unreliable metric for content.
Might be doable if the reshare is simply another post, with an internal reference to another post. The dangerous side of this is access control. Specially since posts will be editable.
We also must have some soft of safeguard to prevent this being used in the Twitter ways, to mass mob or expose a person.
Something that will definitely not be part of whatever solution we come up with is reshare counts. We don't need another injustifiable stat like followers count which in hindsight has proven disastrous.
A lot of people dont even read articles in a tweet before retweeting them, which amplifies the mob effect. As a safeguard small amount of friction for eg. making only reshare with comment possible instead of just tapping to reshare automatically.. usually makes people think twice what they are re-sharing. People also tend to read articles fully when they are commenting something along with it.
We have to prevent that reposted posts don't show up several times in my own feed.
We could allow it if the original post was posted N days ago.
For example I am member in the okuna Community and Joel posts something important. And I am also member of another help community where someone shares the post of Joel a day later. Then I would like to see only the original post in my feed. Maybe a month later someone shares Joel's post again. Then I would like to see the shared post in my own feed.
Additionally we should different between shared posts and link previews of posts.
