Support flatpaks

Open virtualfuzz opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

Role

Because I want an easy way to install this instead of manually running the file everytime.

Suggestion

I simply want flatpaks to be supported.

Benefit

So it is easier to install/more secure (not really)

This suggestion is unique

?

If you're not sure, then what is the real benefit?

Just so that I can install it using flatpak, that's all.

The Releases have an .AppImage which requires no installation and is easy to use. I don't think the maintainer will want to bother with publishing ELP to Flathub because (correct me if I'm wrong) Flathub releases will also need to be manually updated, which also adds extra work on the release.

Oh I was also just asking if flatpaks could just be build and be availible in the release page and not to upload it to flathub.

Though I will use AppImages instead.

For example, I have used Alpine Linux as my main distribution in the past. In Alpine Linux, running the glibc Linux binaries is a pain in the ass. PrismLauncher, on the other hand, is distributed in Flatpak format, among other things, so I was able to easily install it and play the cubic game.

A .flatpak bundle is now available in 9.1 release files. I haven't actually checked if it works, but if it doesn't, please open a new issue.
