Missing explanation for available options in README

Hey there,

I tried running ./configure --help to get a list of configuration options, and I received the following message See the README file for available options; however, the README.md file does not have an explanation for available configuration options, and instead one has to read the configure script directly which might not be convenient.

Is this intentional?
