IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack failover is slow

Open minfrin opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

When using netatalk-3.1.13-3.fc36.x86_64 over a 10GBE network with dual stack IPv4/IPv6, there is a delay of approximately 16 seconds between each action, but otherwise no obvious error.

Connecting to a share takes approximately 16 seconds. After clicking on each folder, the contents of the folder appears after 16 seconds each time.

Obviously the system is unusable in this state. Anyone seen this before?

What made a difference was modifying the machine to be IPv6 only.

very-long-time

Looks like dual stack behaviour is currently broken.

@minfrin What OS were you running Netatalk at the time this issue was observed? Have you tried the dual-stack configuration again with recent releases?

Closing for now. I haven't seen it myself, and it isn't widely reported by other users. Please reopen and provide additional context if you're still experience the issue!
