Cloud Deployment Manager will reach end of support on December 31, 2025

Hello

We recently received an email from Google stating that Cloud Deployment Manager will reach end of support on December 31, 2025. https://cloud.google.com/deployment-manager/docs

Currently, we have deployed multiple NetApp CVO clusters in GCP using Terraform, and these Google deployments were created through Terraform. Given this change, we would like to clarify the following points:

1. Impact on Existing Deployments:

  • When Google discontinues the Cloud Deployment Manager service, what will happen to existing deployments that were originally provisioned using Terraform?
  • Will they continue functioning as expected, or will there be any impact on management and scaling operations?

2. Alternative Deployment Methods:

  • Do you provide alternative solutions for deploying NetApp CVO clusters in GCP after the Cloud Deployment Manager is deprecated?
  • If so, what would be the recommended approach?

3. Migration Path:

  • If an alternative deployment method is available, is there a migration path from Cloud Deployment Manager to the new solution?
  • Would the transition require re-deploying the clusters, or can it be done seamlessly?
  • Are there any automation tools or scripts to facilitate this migration?

Additionally, if there are any official guidelines or documentation regarding this transition, we would appreciate it if you could share them.

Best regards, Moon
