Angular ngFor is Poorly Documented

Open harlankoehn opened this issue 9 years ago • 1 comments

The usage of ngFor in NativeScript is poorly documented. Here's a few points that should be covered:

  • Explain the differences between the ListView and ngFor. What are typical use cases for each of them?
  • Explain what kind of element the ngFor should be declared on. Developers coming to this may be accustomed to declaring Angular repeaters on div elements in HTML.
  • Show proper syntax for ngFor. There's about four variations in the examples that do exist and some of them either don't work at all or give deprecated warnings due to using #item syntax instead of "let item of itemList".
  • A hierarchical example could be created such as list of Businesses with Contact People. The "top level" would show Company Name followed by an indented list of all contacts/people from that company, followed by the next company.

This is good stuff @harlankoehn, and I completely agree. We’ll try to cover this in our next pass through this content. I’ve also added the up-for-grabs tag if someone from the community wants to take a stab at adding this. I’m happy to help anyone that wants to contribute.
