Has been fixed in the meantime

Fixed since 2.1.0, as filename-based icons are now opt-in via the setting `"monokai_pro_file_based_icons": true`

I use Stripe + Paypal to streamline international payments as much as possible. Unfortunately I can't change their policies.

Not sure how profiles work, I assume they save different settings per profile. Have you tried entering the license per profile?
