ESP8266 not connecting to WiFi for home kit

Hello, friends! I am trying to run the HomeKit example 'Switch' on the Arduino IDE platform using an ESP8266. However, after uploading the code to the ESP8266, the board is not connecting to WiFi, even though I have entered the SSID and password correctly. On the other hand, when I use a different code that simply connects to WiFi, it works perfectly using the same SSID and password. What could be the issue?
