Overview over which images can boot from eMMC and/or USB
Most images can be flashed to eMMC and USB directly, but e.g. in case of RPi it depends on the model and RPi 3 non-plus needs to be programmes etc. So generally an overview would be awesome, to now which image can boot from where.
@MichaIng: Is this issue actual? Or will this be obsolete if we have a howto about running DietPi from eMMC or USB devices?
Still a task, not sure whether even better to (additionally) add this to the download page. E.g. the Odroid C2 cannot boot from USB, but from eMMC and SD card only.
Idea: Add a section in the Docs HowTo: "Booting from SD card, USB, eMMC, M.2" Possibly it is sufficient to update the blog post (see below) with a table and extend it to M.2?
Contents
The howto shall cover:
- an overview about boot options (SD card, onboard eMMC, USB stick, USB HDD, USB SSD, M.2 NVMe SSD, M.2 SATA SSD)
- a list of boot options per hardware
- a description how to change (description basis is Moving a running DietPi system to a USB stick/disk or an onboard eMMC)
