WLAN during install

Hi Manu I am Jonathan ! Hope you re well. I just found your GitHub repo on how installing arch on surface pro 3 but I have huge difficulties because of WiFi problem when I am arch root. Thanks a lot for your help

Hi Jonathan,

I did not install arch directly i used Anthergos distro with a GUI installer. Anthergos is defuct but you can use Endevour OS instead and convert ist to pure arch later. I have a guide for this if you want to know more.

I used a Dongle with my Phone to have internet during install. The way you set this up is this: Buy a fast usb port extender who is active like this one:

Plug in your Boot stick and a USB cable to your phone, then plug it into the surface and boot from the stick while that is going on activate USB thethering then you should have working "lan" as the Linux kernel does recognize the tether as LAN.

Also you could use a Arch based distro and install without the internet, do the wlan fix and then upgrade the system.

Also note, with the standard Arch kernel you will only have a very limited experience! You need to install the special surface3-pro kernel to get a stable system and working touch, wifi etc.
