version 1.18 is very outdated vulnerability scans shows a lot of leaks in 1.18

I have to postpone merging this PR: The last time I tried to update to 1.20, I couldn't generate executables (Because of dependencies if I remember correctly). Only changing the go version in go.mod will not help I guess. So, please try to build at least one executable file successfully for any platform 👍

Or I will try it out later.
