could not find P(A-a)O2 (AaDO2) in apacheApsVar
Hi~ PaO2 and PAaO2 are used in ApacheIII, however, I can not find PAaO2 in the table apacheApsVar . Could you tell me how to get it? Thank you for any info.
The APS var table only has variables in the acute physiology score.
PaO2 is in the overall APACHE equation, so it's in the pred var table: https://eicu-crd.mit.edu/eicutables/apachepredvar/
I'm trying to calculate the ApacheIII. According to the rule, when fio2 >=50, P(A-a)O2 is used for scoring. I'm confusing that what i ask is P(A-a)O2 rather than PaO2, and I can not find it in the pred var table.
Oh I see you are looking for AaDO2! I wasn't familiar with calling it P(A-a)O2. Not sure where it is - @obadawi ?
If anyone else is looking for this information, I found a resource to calculate AaDO2 from the variables included in apacheApsVar. See https://icucycle.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/PROSPECT-APACHE-II-Calculation-Worksheet.pdf
which provides the following equation:
Oxygenation: [A-aDO2 = (FiO2 x 710) – (PCO2 x 1.25) – PO2]
