synapse does not cope well with fd exhaustion

What's the observed behavior in your situation? Also have you seen something like an fd leak from synapse or is this due to general lack of fd's on the system?

@ddevault Have you set max_open_files in the config file to some value less than ulimit -n? I'm guessing you're getting "too many open files" error after some time?
