Keep Active Polls in Chat
Checklist (make sure you do all these before you submit a bug report)
- [x] This is an issue for Hyperchat, not LiveTL. I will go to the LiveTL repo to report an issue for LiveTL.
- [x] I have checked for a duplicate or similar issue. I made sure to check closed issues as well.
- [x] I am not reporting a bug. If I am, I will use the bug report issue template.
- [x] I understand that I am not maintaining this codebase, and my suggestion may be rejected for any reason, including "We don't really feel like it" or "That's a little out of scope for this project" (We accept most suggestions, though.)
- [x] I also understand that even if we do accept your suggestion, it may be removed from the extension at any time, for any reason, without notification. It might not make it to a release version of the extension.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. After voting on a poll on a live stream the poll almost instantly disappears, compared to the functionality of the normal YouTube chat where the poll is "pinned" to the bottom of chat and viewers can watch the numbers until the poll is ended by the streamer.
Describe the solution you'd like Implement a similar functionality to be able to see the progress of votes on the poll until the poll is ended. It should not be hidden after voting.
Describe why this solution should be included in Hyperchat It is important to include this function to retail usability by replacing the YouTube chat with a more performant version.
Describe alternatives you've considered Instead of pinning the poll optionally have another location to view "previous" polls including those that have ended to view the final results.
This is kinda difficult to develop and test for since polls are a beta YT feature that not every creator has access to (or maybe its limited to partners, which is even worse). We'll most likely have to wait till polls are out to the general public before we can properly implement this.
That's unfortunate I wasn't aware of that. Would be pretty difficult to test without a partner cooperating which I'm sure YouTube wouldn't like. I guess time to read up on the code base and try things when I watch streams.
Takanashi Kiara (which you probably all know according to the PS in the latest update notice) has noticed this exact issue in her last member's only stream(timestamp 51:53, you can see the stream only if you're a member of her channel). I believe she would be up for a test poll if it's not too much effort for her. Could even be a poll on the pre-chat of a stream (like she did in her last Korean lesson stream to ask the viewers if they are from Korea or not) so it doesn't affect the archived stream at all.
Lofi hip hop beats to relax to always has an active poll.

There may be any problems regarding testing for when the creator dismisses the poll because few polls can be dismissed upon request.
