Show that Plot Pane is disabled

somewhere in the (manually) opened plot pane.

would it not be better from a UX perspective to activate it if the plot pane has been opened manually? (so possibly there would be three states: activate / activate if open [default] / deactivate?

Probably. For now I've just changed the title to indicate the Plot Pane is disabled.
