Sounds reasonable, but that line [was committed](https://github.com/opentracing-contrib/python-django/commit/381d173e1a28b090a5b91bad4a110f7d7269858a) on Dec 9, 2016. `1.8`, `1.9`, and `1.10` were actual versions of `Django` that time.
