Renaming not always working

Open dandrejvv opened this issue 7 years ago • 4 comments

I was busy renaming two properties on two different DTOs (I accidentally had them the wrong way around) and found that unless you press TAB (or ENTER, I think) to trigger the rename, it doesn't rename the property. I was typing in the name in the text box and clicking on another element (expecting the renaming to take place) to rename the other element but it never triggered the renaming on the previous element.

Hi @dandrejvv, this is a slightly tricky one because the updates to the underlying model are intentionally left until ENTER is pressed or focus is lost so that the UNDO/REDO systems can capture the change. There is a bug in that when focus is lost to somewhere other than the Properties panel it doesn't update the underlying model. We will look into a fix for this...

To some extent this is working. I can't say yet that it works for all scenarios as I haven't tested them all yet.

This is still a concern in 1.3.0-beta. If you click on any place outside the text boxes or treeview where the metadata is, it doesn't trigger the name change on a element that you were busy naming.

This is perhaps still a concern even in Intent Architect 3.0
