[Bug] Web Disk Management is not working while CasaOS is running inside VMware

Open thecrafterjt opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Describe the bug

When I open the hard disk management in the web interface, I do not see all drives that exist in the system, but only one. What you see from reboot to reboot is not always the system hard disk, it can also be a different one.

To Reproduce

  1. Install Debian 12 and CasaOS in an VMware vSphere environment.
  2. Add an extra Drive to the VM and reboot.
  3. Open the hard disk management in the web interface.
  4. See the error (only one of disks will be shown - might not even be the system drive)

Expected behavior

Show all drives from the system in the menu. It should then be possible to manage them from there.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

 - OS: Windows 10 22H2
 - Browser: Firefox
 - Version: 128

System Time

Local time: Di 2024-07-16 13:47:24 CEST
Universal time: Di 2024-07-16 11:47:24 UTC
                 RTC time: Di 2024-07-16 11:47:24
                Time zone: Europe/Berlin (CEST, +0200)
System clock synchronized: yes
              NTP service: active
          RTC in local TZ: no

Logs

sudo journalctl -xef -u casaos-local-storage

casaos-local-storage is the only one with errors. Log is attached. [casaos-local-storage.log] (https://github.com/user-attachments/files/16248192/casaos-local-storage.log)

Additional context

I think that the problem will only occur in connection with a VMware virtualization, because there no SMART data can be retrieved from the disks. Perhaps an exception could be made for this case?
